Christopher Sanders is accused of beating Sherilyn Hill to death at Royale Inn before Thanksgiving. Sanders, 35, allegedly hid Hill's body in the stairwell of the motel near Paseo and Independence Avenue. Hill's body was discovered December 7.

Here's what court records say happened. A witness told police that she was with Hill and Sanders and a couple of unknown black men a few days before Thanksgiving. She said Sanders rented a room at the motel, and she and Hill went to room 206 with Sanders to smoke crack cocaine. Sanders allegedly wanted one of the women to trade sex with him for money. Court records say Hill became upset with Sanders for not giving her crack cocaine and pulled out a pocket knife and threatened Sanders. But Hill put away her knife and started smoking crack.

The witness said Sanders asked her if she was ready, which she took to mean smoking crack. She said yes, and Sanders kicked Hill in the side of the face with a "martial arts move." The witness told police that Sanders kicked Hill several times in the head, and Hill began to snore. The witness yelled at Sanders to stop, but he didn't, court records say, and he proceeded to tie up Hill with a bed sheet. The witness ran, asked a passer-by for help but didn't call for help.

Surveillance video showed the witness running from the room around 1:05 a.m. November 23. Around 2:15 a.m., a person can be seen carrying something out of the room and walking toward a stairway. Court records say this person is later revealed to be Sanders.

Another witness told police that Sanders met with him at a 7-Eleven convenience store on Independence Avenue. Sanders was looking for a drug dealer to sell him crack cocaine. The witness helped him out. Sanders later tried to sell the witness his room for the rest of the night at the Royale Inn for $10. The witness met Sanders at the motel and noticed blood on the sink, dresser and interior door. The witness also saw Hill's pants but no sign of Hill. The witness asked Sanders where Hill was, but he refused to answer and left.

In an interview with detectives, Sanders admitted being in the room with Hill and another woman but denied killing Hill.

Sanders is charged with second-degree murder.

Hill an I grew up together and traveled in the same circles once upon a time. This is upsetting! My prayers go out to the victims family. S. Hill will be missed.

Its like he wanted to get caught, renting his crime scene of a room out for the remainder of the night.

I guess smoking crack makes you real smart.
