Has Romeo Crennel earned the head coaching job of the Chiefs?

That is the question.

Wherefore has your stache gone, Romeo?

In the hours after a close loss to the Oakland Raiders on Saturday, Romeo Crennel explained his Zen-like feelings about whether he'll be able to shed the interim tag.

"Whatever happens will happen," said the interim head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs.

In the past two weeks, the Chiefs have ended the Packers' perfect season and come within a blocked field goal of beating the Raiders. There's still a game left — one that could keep the Denver Broncos out of the playoffs — and Crennel has already pledged to play the starters in an effort to make that happen. In the Romeo era, Chiefs fans have witnessed a sideline free of swearing, a Gatorade bath, Tyler Palko being declared inactive, and a team that is competent on both sides of the football. From what you've seen, are you ready to give the head coaching job to Crennel, or does it matter what happens next weekend in Denver?

NO he hasn't earned the head coaching job. He's done a pretty good job with the defense which only lost one key player to injury. He won one game, against a GBay team that took KC for granted. He lost the Oakland game....literally lost it. The team that is "alledgedly" following him gave away the game. They had way too many penalties, Orton stunk, they got two field goals blocked and squandered a chance to win the division while Crennel was leading the team. He is a good defensive coordinator, but the Oakland game proved it wasn't Haley's fault or Crennel's fault......Pioli put together an overall bad team that doesn't know how to prepare or execute like professionals.

Crennel hasn't done anything to prove he warrants a head coaching job.....his record prior to KC and his record in KC should be enough to prove he's not head coaching material. The real issue is who will want to come to work in KC with the lousy reputation our front office has around the league?

In answer, yes.

Even the players will stand behind him in his coaching decisions, and that speaks volumes.

No one with Ike Turner hair should be allowed to coach in the NFL!

I think he's at least earned himself an advantage to any other candidates. Especially since Peoli will only hire former New Englanders. I believe he should get the job, at least of that group. If Peoli hires Josh McDaniels, i may consider giving up my season tickets, or at least trying to talk the airport into diverting his flight to Denver.
