Man found shot to death at 45th and Askew is the fifth homicide victim of 2012

UPDATE: The victim of Tuesday night's homicide has been identified as 33-year-old Leland Dickens. Police are still looking for the killer.

Original Story: Kansas City police are investigating the fourth homicide of the week. (It's the fifth homicide of 2012 in KCMO.) Gunshots around 8 p.m. led residents in the area of East 45th and Askew to call the cops.

Officers found the body of a black man in his mid-20s between two houses. The man was dead at the scene.

Witnesses told police that they heard a disturbance and then gunshots.

well you kc mo thugs you're off to a very slow start. You're averaging about 10 murders a month on an annual basis and so far you're only half way to the avergage......I realize you hide out like cockroaches in the winter and come out blazing in the summer months...but you have got to stay focused.....now get out there and get busy!
