'We are Mizzou' music video may be the worst thing to ever come out of Columbia

Posted by Justin Kendall on Mon, Jan 30, 2012 at 12:05 PM

If Missouri hadn't left the Big 12 for the SEC, this dreadful video should have gotten 'em kicked out. Fifth Down, did you really have to give KU fans more ammunition? Hang your heads, Antlers.

Update: Click here to see three Kansas fans' parody of this god-awful video.

good to hear that they "ain't waiting any more to be champions". So all those past losses were intentional. Makes sense I guess.

You know the difference between the Mizzou song and the one that the KS kids did (the song and not the parody) is not just that the song is better but they don't spend the entire song displaying their basketball insecurities by ripping on their rival team. In the KS video, the kids are celebrating the school and their program. In the Mizzou video, they mention their disdain for KS throughout the video rather than just celebrating the success of their program this year. I'm no Missouri fan but that's just lame no matter how you look at it.

@ Matthew Dewitt...you can have additional sports that Missouri is good at. We at Kansas will just continue to hang our hats on being good at basketball, spelling, grammar and punctuation.

Thanks for this video Mizzou it made my day!

@ Matthew D - you must have gone to Mizzouri. You know how I can tell? It took my 5 tries to read and comprehend your comment. Go back to school, kiddo. Notice how I said you went to Mizzou - dare I assume you graduated, or nearly finished.

MU hasn't contended for a Big 12/8 title since the 60's... Guess the SEC needed someone's ass to kick... Didn't K-State hang 20 on MU by halftime??? LMFAO!

@Alan:There is nothing "archaic" about a Wigger Party. Young people are gleefully throwing{and attending} such parties on college campuses across the country. Such gatherings are, in fact part of a growing NEW counter-culture. A youthful rejection of the layers of HYPOCRISY that have been smothering Whites for over half a century. Such is the "ideology" you asked me to divulge. An ideology based on reality that rejects fantasy and milquetoast platitudes. The only "damage" done by my previous comment was to chip away at the polite lie that Hip-Hop Culture is anything other than vulgar criminality. I feel sorry for anyone who thinks that references to "goosestepping" still carries weight.Such people obviously still believe The Race Card still has value as currency.

This fails as a serious attempt (lame/terrible) OR as a parody (not funny/clever). -Please, stop trying to defend it. Just let it die as quickly as possible.

As neither a KU fan or MU fan, I feel sorry for both teams. Because I'm sure it's only a matter of time before someone at KU thinks, "We could do better than that."

You know, UMKC has a very good conservatory of music and dance. I guess that's why these guys are at MU.

KU already made a vid, a serious unoriginal one, a lame attempt at best. You can't satire a satric imitation. You could but wouldnt have the same affect. Sorry to say bud, but Mizzou already beat you to the punch.

Justin- "Few can grasp satire, but we'll be happy so long everyone gets a few laughs!
Thanks for the love MIZZOU, looks like Kansas will be some sore losers." -We are Mizzou (Youtube)

What is it about that statement you don't understand? Like they stated, "few can grasp" it.

Yeah. Satire. Right.

So this is a parody? If KU fans made this to make Mizzou look lame, then it's pure genius.

To Justin Kendall, if you had read the story about them, they were not trying to be serious. People seriously? lol Its called parody. Google it. This story, Justin, is a joke its self, I hope. Lighten up, KC! You're making us look bad on this side of the state.

To "QT likes Jonas Brothers" It's called Parody you fool. lol Something you obviously don't get. Funny thing is, your "Red & blue" was trying to be serious and turned out to be unoriginal {Yawn}, which says it all about KU and its fans. lol

I think it's great. It's college kids goofing around and having fun. They're not part of some music factory that's supposed to launch a career in music. Many people here like to criticize when people are doing something creative. How many of you have actually done something similar and learned from it? That's what college is for. To grow, learn and develop. Application is better than book smarts. No, I'm not going to tune to it in the car instead of Garth Brooks, Scorpion, or even L. Gaga. But it was worth a listen once and a thumbs up for their effort. It's at least as good as many of the journalistic efforts I've seen in the Pitch and those usually aren't done purposely with much humor intertwined.

Uh, looks like it's "Friday, Friday" in Columbia?

In fact, after seeing that, I think that "I gotta' have my bowl."

In this case, however, it's the toilet "bowl" that I need. For vomiting purposes.

Well, what did anybody really Expect from young kids of this GENERATION, who really truly have NO Concept of what real Musical Talent is really about - other than waving their arms around acting like monkeys, and trying to copy cat & emulate that Degenerate RAP/ Hip Hop, so-called stupid Music, with such poor beat . Many of these youth today have NO real concept of what real music was really like in decades past, such as the 1950's 1960's 1970's early 80's. This trash punk Rap & Hip Hop music with absolutely no beat and such poor lyrics and almost always has NO real Musical Instruments of any kind being played in these types of videos today is why, and they really don't know anybetter, its what that late 90's and early 2000 culture gave them, its all they know , if they only knew what music used to be like and how the real Musical Artists used to perform and have PRIDE in their performaces , not anhy more with these degenerate RAPSTERS and Hip Hop retards. You'll also notice most of those types of late night CLUBS, are the ones that generally have all the shootings and problems and why many have been shut down by several cities. This LACK of Real Musical Talent being Injected into todays youth, with this kind of so-called Music ( Rap & HipHop), is disgusting, even their performances are disgusting, usually on some stage with their pants down to their knees, shoes untied shirt down to their knees and their silly ball hat turned sideways acting like a degenerate Thug, is now what they consider Talent nowdays ???? Amazing -what the music industry has stooped so Low to, now, compared to what we used to have just a few decades ago,, its Sadd, and most of todays generation has no idea and are Clueless ~ !!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GwjfUFyY6M - - - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCUlG2hHGB4

ONE good year and here come all of the SO-CALLED fans or should I say band wagon jumpers. I love this video because it reminds me of a really crappy 80's porn starring a nerdy version of the backstreet boys. Just keep adding fuel to the fire boys. How many big 12 and national championship banners do you have in your arena??? Its ok, baby steps. Let's work on figuring out how to spell Mizzouri first. Ooops i mean missouri. Man i cant decide, with a Z or an S. Someone help them

Really people? C'mon commentors... nothing wrong with a little tongue-in-cheek humor. I happen to think it was pretty funny in that light. Though I will admit it is rather stale humor. And to the guy or gal that commented "wigger party"... It's likely you are not an educated person but assuming you are somewhat intelligent, I wonder if you realize the only damage done by your comment is that which the reader inevitably heaps upon you for such a neolithic comment. I'm sorry for you in that the only mechanism seemingly at your disposal to express your thoughts about others activities, proclivities, effots, and creativty is through the outdated and largely irrelevant language of racism, prejudice and social intolerance; a system of thought erstwhile referred to as fascist. Perhaps in your zealousness to goosestep blindly to the measure of the kinds of archaic thoughts such as reflected in your comment, you should endeavor to divulge the true idealology upon which they are based. Perhpas then we, the consumer of your comment(s), will at the least have some declarative basis upon which to tell you to go to hell.
