  • The newest casino in Kansas premieres today.
The roulette wheels will be spinning, the slots will be jangling, the change cups will be in hand — and for the first time it will all count. The Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway is set to open its doors for a grand opening at 11 a.m. today. And after that, they'll always be open — this is a 24-hour, seven-day operation.

Last week, Fat City's Charles Ferruzza had the chance to tour the state-of-the-art kitchens and restaurant concepts inside the Kansas City, Kansas, casino next to the Legends. Today, they're open to the public along with the 2,000 slot machines, 40 game tables and a poker room. Are you going to try your luck at the Hollywood Casino?

Never. Drive half an hour to piss money away with a bunch of obese retirees smoking cigarettes while using oxygen tanks and to eat food from an overpriced, nasty buffet? Sheeeeit. The entire "Legends" area is like something from "Idiocracy" and should be destroyed by predator drone.

Went on opening day not to gamble but to check the place out and have lunch for my birthday....very, very, very disappointed....opening day was planned poorly, staff were rude when people were going in after being in the cold/rain for 45 minutes( which i think was an informal opening ceremony where you can only see the speakers streamed via a large TV monitor ). Then after being out in the cold for that long,we were let in only to be greeted by a yelling staff "step back, step back. Found out we can only stay at the very entrance, past the door, cause they dont open for the "next 15 0r 20 minutes". When they finally "opened", we walked around to check the casino, my friends who gamble think that it's "so so". When we went to the only restaurant they have which is the buffet, food was mediocre, can eat somewhere else for same price and better food. I don't mind the mediocre food and the so so casino, what would not make me go back is they way we were treated , they could have apologized for the long wait in the cold rainy weather, instead of yelling "step back step back" acting like we were contaminating a crime scene.

No, I'm not stupid enough to gamble.

And yes smoker, smoking is disgusting. Keep telling yourself its not, and us non-smokers will continue to laugh at you. I didn't hire someone the other day because I knew she was a smoker. I don't need that filth around me.

Change cups in hand? Reallllllly? Are these the ones people sitting outside will be holding out to passersby asking for change to get some gas so they can get home to their ailing grandmother? None of the machines pay out in change anymore .. haven't for years. So you gotta be making reference to the guy who could use a buck or two for fuel. Right?

I bet non-smoker will have no problem throw back a half dozen beers and/or martinis. Cause, that's healthy and everything

Nothing says "I'm a fat, tacky, gullible fuck" like patronizing a casino. " Come to the Hollywood Casino, give us your money then visit our all-you-can-possibly-fucking-eat-buffet". "We have lots of bright, shiny things inside...LOL."You'll know you're beautiful and glamorous because it's the HOLLYWOOD Casino!"

If smoking is allowed I will not go near the casino floor--So I'll say not until they decide to cater to people who care about their health!!!

Not until the initial rush dies down. Maybe this summer when I'm drunk after a Sporting KC game
