Charleatha Nevins is "The Chosen One." Or so her chest tattoo tells us. She's also accused of shooting and killing her husband, 25-year-old Eric Nevins, in the street at 3339 Forest earlier this week.

Jackson County prosecutors have charged the 28-year-old with second-degree murder and armed criminal action.

In an interview with detectives, Charleatha Nevins said she shot her husband, whom she claimed was punching her in the head through the driver's-side window of her vehicle, during an argument over the use of a credit card. She claimed that she was in a struggle for the 9 mm weapon with her husband.

Court records say Charleatha Nevins didn't appear to be bruised during her interview with detectives. Also, court records say Eric Nevins' body was free of powder burns, gun-powder residue or other signs of a close-range firing.

It's amazing how many judgemental people have comments to share... you never know unless you are in that situation how it would go down. Truth is this is sad... in her picture she looks sad, not like others who are charged with murder. I wouldnt be so quick to rush to judgement and shame on you who make light of her situation, remember this when your time comes.

You reap what you sow.......... You deserve exactly what's coming too you...... for the wages of sin is death. although you have not lost your life you have lost your freedom to cause anymore harm to anybody....... Now you have time to think about all the lying, stealing, cheating and harm you've caused people.

All of her "man problems" are behind her. Charleatha Nevins can look forward to a lifetime of hot, sweaty, lezbo action.

I knew Charleatha since we where kids, I would've never thought she would do something this extreme. This woman didn't even curse, was deeply committed to her church and family. So im pretty sure there are some variables that will come out during her trail that will show a different side of her personal life style.

i love her tatoo......'the chosen one'.......chosen to do what.....GO DIRECTLY TO JAIL DO NOT COLLECT $200.......so my only question is how many kids does she have that we'll be paying for while she checks into public housing (prison) for the next 20 years

she is lying and the truth will come out... she came where he was with the intent to kill him cause why would she bring the gun and if you knew Eric you know he was not violent she was a troubled individual and she now have left kids to be raised with no parents even her unborn... my prayer is that she can not rest until she tells the truth!

Such a violent couple. Fighting over finances, and pulling guns on one another.

My gosh, how on earth were they raised?

It's sad that some never think things through, arguing over something so petty now neither of them will get a chance to use the credit card; we've lost a father to his children and although she will be in jail her children can come to see her on visits, while his small children will only have vague memories of their father because they are so small. But first of all why would she have a gun under a jacket she was sitting on or why was it even in the car. How did he get the barrel of the gun if she was sitting on it in the driver seat and when he pulled it out she grabs the handle and pull the trigger.

If his hands were on the barrel of the gun don't you think that he was strong enough to move it out of his direction if she was sitting and he was standing. Her whole story is a lie and the truth aint in her nowhere.

Her expression is that of a child with a bad report card...

This is a real tragedy, I feel so bad for the family of the victim... She needs to sit in jail for the rest of her life.... If she was in the car she could have just drove away IF he even raised his hand to hit her. I think she planned to KILL him.......
