Shon Pernice admitted that he hit Renee in the head, and she fell down some steps, KCTV Channel 5 reported. She was mortally wounded. Shon Pernice told investigators that he disposed of Renee's remains in the garbage. Sadly, her body likely will never be recovered.
Shon Pernice is facing up to 15 years in prison.
In May 2010, a grand jury indicted Pernice in Renee's murder. He was long suspected of killing Renee.
A month after Renee's disappearance, a reporter discovered Shon Pernice's profile on a dating website. It was only the beginning of a string of strange incidents. He was accused of stealing a neighbor's gun and later returning it. Then he was accused of drunkenly crashing a Fourth of July party. He later signed over custody of his two sons to the mother of his missing wife.

hey mean gene the dancing machine,
a crime of passion would be a voluntary manslaughter. In the absence of evidence otherwise, coupled with a confession, it would be unlikely to get a murder conviction.
Unless you know something about his premeditation for this crime, 15 years seems pretty standard here.
I'm just disappointed he tossed her out in the trash. He could have recycled her for free up at Best Buy
Another exanple of what's nuts about our justice system. Five to 15 years for murder?
We need prosecutors willing to prosecute ---
not routinely accept plea bargaining. Earn your pay.....this isn't a retirement position.
So far as Shon's confession is concerned, is any of it believable besides the fact he killed his wife?
I think not!
I am glad he finally fessed up. The few details the public learned of were just too strange for it not to be him. How sad for the kids to not only lose their mother but their dad. And then for them to end up knowing their father killed their mom. So sad. But, I'm glad to finally hear he confessed. Maybe her family can find some peace now.
Wrong as it is, I had him pegged as guilty from the time of that 4th of July incident.
He was just too shady about things from the get-go.
