Following up on Monday night's homicide at a Travelers Inn: The victim has been identified as 50-year-old David Turner.

Jackson County prosecutors have charged 26-year-old Natasha Fowler and her boyfriend, 39-year-old Zachary Showengert, with second-degree murder. They are being held on $200,000 bond.

Here's what court records say went down: Fowler told detectives that she was mad at Turner "because he had treated her like a prostitute." She claimed that Turner started hitting her in the face when she refused to give him alcohol or cigarettes. Fowler said she fought back, and Showengert joined in.

Turner fell to the ground, and Fowler admitted continuing to punch and kick him and picking up Turner's head and smashing it into the floor several times. She and Showengert then allegedly dragged Turner's body into the hallways of the motel.

The assault apparently didn't end there. Fowler made a trip to the motel's front desk. When she returned, she told detectives that she tried to help an unresponsive Turner. But court records say she ended up hitting him a couple of more times.

Showengert refused to talk to police.
