As the above documents say, Blue Springs Ford filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy this week. In the past six years, The Pitch has chronicled several jury awards against the car dealer for selling rebuilt wrecks while not disclosing the damage to buyers (read here, here and here).
Among them, a 2010 civil trial ended with a Jackson County jury nailing the dealership for selling a truck with undisclosed structural damage to the tune of $171,520 in compensatory damages and $1.75 million in punitive damages.
