Heather Brown found dead inside a car at 39th and Kensington; 52 homicides in KCMO in 2012

KCMO police are investigating two homicides in the last couple of days.

The body of Heather Brown was found in a car at 3919 Kensington on Thursday morning.

The investigation began around 8 a.m. The Kansas City Star reported that Brown's "body showed obvious trauma." Her cause of death has yet to be determined.

However, the 32-year-old's death is being investigated as a homicide.

Brown's death is the second homicide in the last couple of days. Homicide detectives are also working a case from 53rd and Cleveland.

Around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, two young men were rushed to a local hospital with gunshot wounds. About two hours later, one of the young men was pronounced dead.

The name of the victim in that case has not been released yet.

KCMO's homicide total is now at 52 for 2012.
