The Arizona Cardinals are good for what ails you. Matt Cassel (5-6, 67 yards and a TD pass) looked sharp in the Kansas City Chiefs' 27-17 preseason win Friday night over a Cardinals' team that desperately needs a calming presence under center.

And this was an Arrowhead crowd that wasn't expecting much out of Cassel. He was booed during the celebrity softball game during the All-Star weekend festivities, and his go-to receiver, Dwayne Bowe, is still holding out (although KMBC reported that Bowe would be signing shortly).

Sports Illustrated's Peter King named Cassel his offensive player of the week, noting (with tongue firmly in cheek) that his performance "might be good enough to knock Peyton Manning off the AFC West front page occasionally this season."

The offense was crisp in the first quarter with Peyton Hillis and Jamaal Charles in the backfield alongside Cassel, who appears to be enjoying the reunion with Brian Daboll, his offensive coordinator in New England.

Are you ready to hop on the Matt Cassel bandwagon?
