  • Retired KC Chief Turley donating brain to research

Kyle TurleyA month ago, three NFL players became the first active players to donate their brains and spinal cord tissue to Boston University's Center for the Study of Traumatic Encephalopathy, a collaboration of the Sports Legacy Institute and BU's medical school to study the effects of repeated concussions. Definitely worth reading the stories in the Washington Post and Detroit Free Press.Turley shared with the committee the same stories that he told The Pitch last October, saying he suffered concussions, did not receive medical care and was rushed back into the trenches. However, Dr. Ira Casson, the former co-chair of

Two weeks after "Kansas City's only true rock bar" closed for renovations the club reopens tonight with a new decor. But one Angels Rock Bar patron -- who claims the clubs lacks the proper safety features for dancing on a ledge at 1 a.m. -- might wish the renovation work had gone further.According to a lawsuit filed in Jackson County Circuit Court, plaintiff Kristen Ann Arnold of Liberty was dancing on top of a ledge behind one of the VIP booths along with a friend, Kailey Moore, who

  • Video: Steddy P, "Kenneth Arnold"

Hey, local rock bands: you are sorely slacking when it comes to YouTube. The area hip hop community has a seemingly inexhaustible supply of camera men, editors, and videographers. If we wanted, we could probably post a new video each and every day here on Wayward Blog. Today brings us "Kenneth Arnold," the second video from Steddy P's most recent album, Style Like Mind. Nice use of retro sci-fi footage and go-go girls there by director Nicole Martin and visual samplers VJ Epileptic and Splitfac
