Welcome to the show.In other Royals news:The Onion reports that the team, unable to find themselves in the standings, has filed a grievance with Major League Baseball.David Glass is still one of the worst owners in baseball. And Friday's game, with golden goose Zack Greinke pitching, is almost sold out.

  • JoPo didn't totally curse the Cavs and ruin the NBA Finals ... yet

Joe Posnanski damn near ruined the NBA Finals -- at least the championship game NBA Commissioner David Stern fantasizes about -- LeBron vs. Kobe -- when he rubs one out. The finals that Nike assumes you want to see. JoPo may have doomed his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers and King James by writing a cover story in the cursed Sports Illustrated. The Orlando Magic led the Cavs three games to one going into last night's win or go home game five.Just a few days before game five -- and after getting fl

  • Royals looking to deal ... but Greinke isn't going anywhere

David Glass' golden goose Zack Grienke isn't going anywhere. But you other guys might not be so unlucky to remain in the American League's cellar. An unnamed AL exec told Fox Sports that "Kansas City will talk about anyone outside of their core players." Making the list of untouchables with Greinke: Gil Meche, Joakim Soria, Alex Gordon and Billy Butler. Sounds like Mark Teahen and David DeJesus may want to hire a real estate agent. No word on rumored deals, though.

  • Zack Greinke is an all star

Cue that shitty Smash Mouth song -- or not. David Glass' golden goose is an all star. Zack Greinke's peers voted him on the team -- more than any other player.  They should have given his record (10-4) and his ERA (2.00) and a whole bunch of other things that stat geeks would freak over. Oh, and the Royals won yesterday, which means they're only nine games back. Ugh.Photo courtesy of Chris Vleisides/Kansas City Royals

  • David Glass: A study in frustration

Royals owner David Glass recently told The Kansas City Star that he was as frustrated as any fan with the team's dog of a season. "None of us are happy with what we have or where we are," he told beat writer Bob Dutton.Disappointment is not a new emotion for Glass. Only once since 2000, the year Glass bought the club, has the team finished higher than fourth in the American League Central Division. On other occasions, Glass has described the feelings that come with owning the Royals. See if

  • Star: Royals extend contract of G.M. Moore

Dayton MooreDayton Moore will be cashing more of those sweet, sweet Wal-Mart checks from David Glass. The Kansas City Star reports that Glass has rewarded Moore, the Royals' general manager, with a four-year extension. The Star tries to polish a turd: Moore became the club's general manager on May 30, 2006. The club's record improved in his first two full seasons before this year's slide. The Royals lost 93 games in his first full season with the club, 87 the next year and 80 so far this ye
