It's been a few years since Metric hit us with "Monster Hospital," but the band promises a new LP in the near future. Emily Haines and guitarist James Shaw (who both moonlight as members of Broken Social Scene), have been previewing the new material acoustically this past year, including a performance on IFC Canada's The Rawside Of... documentary series. The concert wire continues to hum. The latest: Canadian chart-toppers Metric are coming to the Granada in Lawrence on June 12. As Canadian electro-rockers Metric broke into their first song of the night at the Granada on Friday, all eyes were on Emily Haines, whose girlish vocals hovered lightly on the thick layers of blue-tinged synths swirling over the audience. The crowd was smitten. They were slain. And they should've been.
After taking a three year break, Metric's disparate parts have reunited from their various solo projects to produce Fantasies, an album that marks the first truly
