  • No more fight club: NV forced to shut down for 45 days

    Gary Majors, the manager of the city's division of Regulated Industries, says that he just signed an agreement with the owner of NV, 220 Admiral Blvd., that will suspend the downtown dance club's operations for 60 days. They'll be closed for the first 45 days, then allowed to operate on a probational basis for the next 15, which means no violations of any kind before they're off the hook again.     Dolce, the upscale dance club and tapas restaurant at 1520 Grand Avenue, is being taken over by new owners. "We are processing an application now for a sale of an existing business," says Gary Majors of the city's Regulated Industries Division. Jay McNamara is taking over the space and turning it into a club called 15Twenty. Joe Simone, Dolce's former owner, told The Kansas City Star when the club opened that it was to be Kansas City's "first real bottle experience." (Don't tell that to Blonde.)
