    Brooklyn Vegan is reporting that ex-Modern Lover Jonathan Richman and sidekick Tommy Larkins will be coming to the Record Bar on June 29. Fellow sardonic singer-songwriter Vic Chesnutt will be joining Richman for part of the tour, but, unfortunately not the part that comes to KC. Unless Vic's eight loyal local fans want to stand up and demand he be drafted for one more show. Come on, guys!     The Lawrence Busker Fest returns for its second year on the streets of downtown Lawrence August 21, 22, and 23. Last year's show was one of the most fun weekends I've had.     ​The latest report on Kansas City's standing among cities clamoring for an NHL franchise isn't good. The Toronto Star cites an October 11 comment from deputy commissioner Bill Daly that gives good vibes to Canadian cities where the NHL once called home: "Both Winnipeg and Quebec have already done that (supported an NHL team).
