  • Eagle reveals Kline's medical records investigation

By JUSTIN KENDALL I take it all back, Ron Sylvester. Yesterday, I bagged on the Wichita Eagle for Twittering the pretrial hearing of Wichita abortion provider George Tiller, who is facing 19 misdemeanor charges that he violated a law requiring two independent doctors to approve late-term abortions. But damn! Today's Eagle story is full of the juicy stuff that makes me wish I were sitting in the Wichita courtroom.

  • Stealing Time: Wherefore art thou, Wonder Woman?

By JUSTIN KENDALL Paul Morrison's mistress Linda Carter is missing. Or at least, George Tiller's attorneys can't find Wonder Woman. So they claimed earlier this week during Tiller's pretrial hearing on criminal charges that he broke Kansas law for not using a second, independent doctor to approve the abortions he performs. They must not have tried very hard because the Star's Mike Hendricks found her in Western Grove, Arkansas, and brags about his Carter finding skillz on Prime Buzz. Cookie Mo

  • Where was Phill Kline last week?

By JUSTIN KENDALLLast Monday, Phill Kline testified at George Tiller's pretrial hearing. But "a scheduling conflict cut off questioning," the Associated Press reported. Apparently, Kline had somewhere better to be: at a speaking engagement in Richmond, Virginia. The Family Foundation of Virginia was throwing a party Thursday night, and it just isn't a party unless Phill Kline shows up to talk about abortion.

  • Culture warrior Bill O'Reilly takes on 'pro-abortion zealots' and 'Fox News haters'

Bill O'Reilly took to his Fox News bully pulpit last night to defend his good name in the wake of George Tiller's murder. There's been a whole lot of finger pointing after Tiller's killing, and some of it's in O'Reilly's direction.O'Reilly was playing victim, saying he knew as soon as he heard about Tiller's murder that the "pro-abortion zealots" and "Fox News haters" would tar him with his own words. Those words -- repeatedly referring to Tiller as "Tiller the killer" or "Tiller the baby killer

  • Paul Morrison cleared in mistress probe

After nine months, a pair of special prosecutors has cleared former Kansas Attorney General Paul Morrison of criminal wrongdoing in an investigation of his conduct during an extramarital affair. Morrison's political nemesis, Johnson County District Attorney Phill Kline, handpicked Tim Keck and Robert Arnold to investigate allegations that Morrison used his affair with Linda Carter to attempt to spy on Kline's investigation of abortion clinics and influence a lawsuit filed by eight DA's Office em

  • The Twitter trial of Phill Kline

I didn't make it to Wichita today -- commitments kept me here at headquarters (sorry, Brian). So I've had to follow Wichita Eagle reporter/Tweeter Ron Sylvester's coverage. Sylvester didn't disappoint last time, and he's giving up the juicy info as it happens this time, too. About a half hour ago, Phill Kline finally left the stand after testifying all day. Now, Morrison's mistress, Linda Carter, has emerged from seclusion to take the stand. So far it sounds like defense attorneys for Wichita abo

  • Morrison's mistress testifies

Day two of Wichita abortion doctor George Tiller's pretrial hearing finds mistress/Wonder Woman Linda Carter back on the stand and closing arguments. Wichita Eagle reporter Ron Sylvester once again Tweeted the hearing. My favorite part so far: Judge Clark Owens' ruling that ex-Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline can keep the lock on his personal diary.

The publishing event of the season in Kansas City has never seen official publication. We refer, of course, to It All Started When I Was Born, the fiery, ribald journal maintained by Funkhouser-keeper Gloria Squitiro from July of 2008 to January of 2009. While the 35-page diary has been debated and giggled over ever since it first turned up on KSHB's Web site last week, Squitiro's musings, apparently intended for a book, are not yet what any publisher might consider reader-friendly. In fact

Among the celebrities expected to show up: Josh Rosenau, the science blogger who distinguished himself as one of the nation's best (even more impressive: He was our  Best Blogger) while writing Thoughts from Kansas during the 2005 "debate" about evolution.
