This week, my Wayward Son column focuses on Ben Grimes, a Kansas City musician returning home to play a show after having moved to Nashville a year ago. The former Golden Republic frontman is bringing his newish project, Soft Reeds, to the Record Bar on Wednesday, November 26 (also on the bill: Hidden Pictures).

It's been a while since Pete Yorn has bothered to update his website and MySpace page, so kudos to Heather Browne's I Am Fuel, You are Friends for posting two new, exclusive tracks from his upcoming releases. According to her blog:

Danko Jones' Never Too Loud is more of the same from the Canadian three-piece. It's good, but after listening to the album a couple times, it's become clear that Jones' sexual braggadocio is starting to wear a little thin. KISS did it to death with stuff like "Love Gun" and "Dr. Love" nearly 30 years ago.
