  • Mighty Mighty Bosstones Enter the Studio For New Album

The Mighty Mighty Bosstones entered the studio on the Fourth of July to begin recording their first album of all-new material since 2002's A Jackknife to a Swan. They've been posting regular Twitter updates, including a master list of all the songs they're working on. Nine of those songs have been culled from the 25 listed, leaving 16 remaining. No idea as to which ones made the cut. Since the band reunited in late 2007, they've released the b-sides collection Medium Rare and a 7" single with

  • Skavoovie & the Epitones Back Together, Less the Epitones

Seems like the Mighty Mighty Bosstones aren't the only '90s ska band back together and in the studio. Newton, Massachusetts' Skavoovie & the Epitones were one of the few '90s ska acts not to go punk or traditional, instead creating a hybrid of ska, jazz, and swing. • Incoming: KISS at the Sprint Center, December 10

As Back to Rockville reported yesterday, KISS is coming to the Sprint Center on December 10, as part of their Alive 35 Tour. That news was confirmed shortly afterward on the Sprint Center's website, with dates for tickets sales forthcoming. I'm tired of looking at KISS videos, so here's the Mighty Mighty Bosstones' video for their cover of "Detroit Rock City" off the KISS My Ass compilation. • Wayward Advent Calendar: Mikey's Xmas Ska Album

Some kid posted this "ska" Christmas compilation online. Granted, several of the songs are punk, and one is nouveau swing, but for whatever reason, there's about five million ska bands out there doing Christmas songs. For instance: MU330's Winter Wonderland, Go Jimmy Go's Holiday Hell Yeah!, the Trojan Records Christmas box set, and Moon Records' Christma-Ska. I'm sure there are others. I think maybe it's the horns. Track listing: 1. The Blue Meanies - The Grinch 2. The Mighty Mighty Bos

  • Download Wayward Blog's Corrupted Christmas Mix

Being as how the response to the Wayward Blog Halloween mix was so positive, we've decided to bring you our mix for the holiday season, entitled "Corrupted Christmas." It's a two and a half hour mix spanning genres and times. Neill CameronBasically, it's got some classics, some rarities, some happy Christmas songs, and there's the possibility that some of you with seasonal affective disorder might not want to listen to the last few songs. As the mix fades out, it gets a little grim. We
