  • The Download: New Von Bondies MP3

It's been five years since the Von Bondies scored big with the Rescue Me television theme song, but the Detroit garage rockers are hoping to prove they're no one-hit wonders. The band's third LP, Love, Hate & Then There's You, hits stores tomorrow and the iTunes deluxe version comes with five extra tracks. Check out the video and MP3 for the first single below and stream another new one at Spin. Pale Bride MP3: The Von Bondies, "Pale Bride," Love, Hate & Then There's You (Majordomo)

  • Slide Show: Silversun Pickups, the Von Bondies and Dead Confederate at P&L for Buzz St. Pat's Party Thingy

Scott Spychalski That's the face of a happy rocker, folks. And you can get lots more where that came from by clicking on the photo for a slide show featuring this man's band (Silversun Pickups), plus Dead Confederate, the Von Bondies and happy drunk people in the afternoon. Notes: I had hoped to catch part of the Von Bondies' set, but the show was running early. By the time some coworkers and I arrived around 3:30, they were done. At some point, you're going to have to choose one show over the other, and just live with your decision. Starting tonight, there's Mike Farris & the Roseland Rhythm Revue at Liberty Hall in Lawrence. By all accounts, this is going to knock your socks off. Farris used to front the Screaming Cheetah Wheelies, so he knows how to rock. A

  • Incoming: The Buzz's Beachball, September 4

96.5 The Buzz presents the return of their Summer Beachball show. For a few years there, it was your way to see a lot of bands for cheap. Well, they didn't have one last summer, but now it's back on September 4--which makes it more of an end-of-summer ball than anything else. The Blink-182 / Weezer pairing at CapFed Sandstone has been out for a while now, but there's a quite a bit more than just those two: KC's own Republic Tigers and Mac Lethal, plus Taking Back Sunday, Matt & Kim, Stellastar*
