The Arts Incubator's annual fundraiser turned a chilly evening into an extravaganza of comfort food and the creative arts.

Designers Oblivion, Robert Anthony, Abigail Carolina, Wop on Top, Betsey Johnson, Envolve and Evil Pawn showed their wares alongside performances by Pet Comfort, Action Figure and Heroes and Villains. 11/14/09.

On Friday, November 13, after all of last week's Veteran's Day speeches were over, the Heart of America Stand Down Foundation (kcstanddown.org) hosted a day-long event where homeless vets could eat hot meals, pick up warm clothes and get haircuts and health screenings at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas. We got there around 2 p.m., as things were winding down. Stand Down estimates that on any given night, there are 1,800 homeless vets in Kansas City.

It already felt like spring on Saturday during Tulips on Troost's fall bulb planting event.
