Wayward Cast 2

Posted by Jason Harper on Fri, Mar 2, 2007 at 12:19 PM

Yesterday, my second podcast went up. You can download it via iTunes here, or go to Pitch.com and click the link under the blurb under the Wayward Blog logo. Either way, you have to have iTunes. For now.

This'll be my last podcast until the beginning of April. With SXSW around the corner, March is going to be hectic, and I just won't have time to entertain you with audio dribblings. Stay tuned to the Pitch podcast, however, for edifying updates from my colleagues.

Here's the playlist for Wayward Cast 2: Beats, Roots and Babes. The linked bands are playing here this weekend.

Intro music: "All Day Breakfast" by Jel

"Heart of Hearts" by !!! (ChkChkChk)

"Squeeze Your Brain" by Bacon Shoe

"Iko Iko" by Glass Candy

"Streets of Ours" by Pendergast

"Fisherman's Blues" by Pendergast

"Don't Count Me Out" by the Bleeding Hands

"Hospital Beds" by Cold War Kids

"The Tether and the Tie" by Richard Buckner

"Are You Alright?" by Lucinda Williams

"Loser Crew" by Pablo

"I Love You, Hipster Darling" by the Awkward Stage

Yeah, I thought Huey Lewis' original statement" was "the harder rock 'n' roll's in Cleveland," but I looked up the lyrics, and that's nowhere in the song. So I guess our geographic modification to the phrase no longer has lost the benefit of a pop-culture reference. Oh well. I still say the harder rock 'n' roll's in Sweden.

Thanks for listening!

Hey Jason-
I really like some on these songs! Thanks for the introduction. And bonus points for Lucinda.

-Justin (we met last night thanks to Jasper Johns)

PS- I heard Sweden is the new Cleveland. Is that true?!
