A doozy of a rumor appeared on a local forum today, posted by a frequent DJ at the Hurricane, reading as follows:
The man who owned Club 151 is now the operator. I'm DJing there tonight. I hear that the curved wall is now covered completely in mirrors and there are 6 plasma screens hanging above the mirrors. The sound equipment for the back stage is housed in the basement and he will be taking out the windows from the Broadway side of the building and replacing them with garage doors. Later, the old Aquarius will be added to the compound. I'll report my findings.Automatic Westy at the Hurricane 6.2.7.
I'm gonna hump yr girlfriends' purses.
Meanwhile, we knew something was a' brewing at Mike's. Right now, the Web site isn't giving much info. See for yourself.
Our researchers are doggedly trying to track people down with the official dope.

She's right, they let the musical interference occur and also left the drapery open on the Broadway-facing windows. Both different practices at the Hurricane.
not sure on the whole story w/ the 'cane, but it's definitely under new ownership. friend of mine bartended there until the change and had philosophy differences with the new ownership.
i can tell you that i personally experienced something i never did by the jerry's bait shop people when they owned it. couple weeks ago went to the down trunks/it's over show and they had a dj on the patio the same time the bands were playing- never had that going on before. if you stood in the wrong place while trying to see the band, you heard them mixed with the bass thumping of the hip hop outside. seems to me that there is a likely shift happening. i
