Separated at Birth

Is there some kind of weird beard contest going on at Sub Pop Records? If so, Sam Beam’s got competition. Ben Bridwell and his Band of Horses return next month with Cease to Begin. Download the album opener, “Is There a Ghost,” at The Glorious Hum.

Sam Beam might be hiding iron and wine in there.

Phony Rappers

MF Doom’s West Coast fans are pissed. Accusations have been circulating that the rapper lip-synched and/or used a body double for some of his California appearances last month. Get the skinny at Byron Crawford's site, and if you haven’t lost all respect for the masked villain, hit this Wikipedia entry for an MP3 of “Angels,” from Doom’s perpetually upcoming Swift and Changeable collab with Ghostface.

How We Don't Operate

Gomez: grey enough.

Despite attaining long overdue success in America, British band Gomez looks like it's veering off course. Its latest tune, “Moon and Sun,” appears exclusively on the upcoming Grey’s Anatomy soundtrack (hitting stores next week) and reeks of prime-time drama. Head to Stereogum and listen at your own risk.

Ritual de lo Rehabitual

Get thee to a nunnery!

Last week, Amy Winehouse’s father-in-law made a plea to her fans to boycott her. His reasoning, of course, is that she’ll eventually run out of money and won’t be able to feed the monkey. I’ll oblige this strange cause with a Winehouse cover by some other monkeys instead.

CDP skirts success.

Cajun Dance Party hasn’t wrapped up its debut album yet, but the London youngsters are keeping their next-big-thing status in check by releasing their second single, “Amylase.” It isn’t quite as catchy as “The Next Untouchable,” which you can download courtesy of Stereogum.

Chrome Anniversary

Cheers to Frank Yang’s Chromewaves, which celebrates five years this week. I check it religiously for the MP3 of the Week, and so should you. This week, download the Yeah Yeah Yeahs doing an acoustic version of Bjork’s “Hyper-Ballad.”

Hello,I am a professional guitarist and I've came up with a stupid rule that enables me to take a ten minutes time out after one hour of exercising. Now, each and every break I've to do some thing entirely different, so mostly I go to Google and seek for the suggested last hour blog. It can be enjoyable to do some thing diverse and to discover new things each and every day. By the way, right now I am playing. List. Your web site is excellent, I wish I could stay for a longer time, but I should get back to play... In the future I'll come to visit again.
