We Love You Guys

Wayne, Steven, Mike, Kliph, and everyone else involved with the Flaming Lips show at the Uptown last night, thank you. It was like a birthday party planned by an archangel, attended by gods.

Thanks for reminding all us lost souls to cultivate happiness in life, surround ourselves with friends, celebrate, sing and seek beauty. Here's looking at you, Lips.

my first lips concert and i couldnt have had a better time.

as far as bmsr, i think they were good, but highly monochromatic - i wished their set would have ended about 15 minutes sooner.

Hey uh... you think we can get the Lips to play CMF next year? Kliph's local(ish)...

That would be so rad, I could totally die fulfilled the next day.

"Daftpunk Horror Picture Show is playing at my house, my house. All the vocoders and creepy hamburger-eatin' eyeballs are in the garage..."

I liked Black Moth too. Some of their sounds reminded me a little of Air, at times, but with way more funk & synth. Definitely more electronic, but pretty fun. My favorite "visual" was the black and white cartoon/animation they showed during one of their songs.

This is the first time I've seen The Flaming Lips. They were absolutely AMAZING. Wow. "Do You Realize" made me cry too. A great night all around.

I liked Black Moth. The music was psychedelic and chill, and the animation was creepy and kickass, but since I'm creepy and kickass that sort of thing's my bag.

The Lips were as beautiful as I'd knew they'd be. "Do You Realize?" made me cry like a baby bitch. I just wish they woulda played some more offa Soft Bulletin. That's my jam.

I found Black Moth to be intensely psychedelic and a bit cold. I didn't completely dislike it, but as I was not high or tripping, I felt excluded and a bit frightened. And then the Lips came along and brought me and everyone else back into the love fold.

I couldn't disagree more. I think Black Moth Super Rainbow is a perfect match for Flaming Lips! Their music reminds me of a younger, more psychedelic, Flaming Lips. I loved them live and the visuals were a trip!

The only thing I would have changed about that show is the opening band. Black Moth Super Rainbow put me in such a funk that only a band as great as the Flaming Lips could have possibly revived me. I say the Lips let the Ssion open for them next time.
