Titular Homicide
It looks like Electric Six is going to take this year’s longest album title with I Shall Exterminate Everything Around Me That Restricts Me from Being the Master. Suck on that, Modest Mouse. Stereogum has the first single, “Dance Pattern”.
Peace Offering
I’m a little bummed that Deerhoof skipped us on this year’s lengthy Friendship Opportunity tour, but the band won me back with this free album of assorted goodies posted on its site. Afterwards, download the self-explanatory Coverhoof!.
More fix after the jump.
Hot Dish
Hot Chip has pushed back Shot Down in Flames to next year, but the first singe, “Shake a Fist,” has been a live staple for a while now. If you don’t feel like shelling out for the ultra limited 12”, right click and save here.
White Lightning
According to “Easy,” Aceyalone likes to go easy on the coke and heavy on the green, so kudos to Acey for showing a bit of restraint. The first single from his dancehall inspired Lightning Strikes (due next week) features Chali 2na from the now-defunct Jurassic 5. Download it via So Much Silence.
Ham Radio
Those yearning for that Elephant 6 sound have something to look forward to. Ham1 (which includes members of the Olivia Tremor Control) returns in October with The Captain’s Table. Aquarium Drunkard has posted a few of the upcoming tracks from LP2.
Beyond Thunderdome
Thunderheist is coming on strong with a sexually charged brand of electro-rap. Montreal’s MC Isis and Grahmzilla haven’t started recording their debut yet, but the tracks below are promising, particularly the Eurythmics cut-up, “Suenos Dulces,” which is much sexier than the Canadian translation, “Sweet Dreams, eh.”
