Gold Soundz

Along with the deluxe version of Pavement’s Brighten the Corners, Stephen Malkmus will be issuing solo LP4 in 2008. You Ain’t No Picasso’s has more info and a live version of the title-track from the forthcoming Real Emotional Trash, due March 4 on Matador Records. Get it here. (link)

Rubies

Dan Bejar is best known as a New Pornographer, but his work under the moniker Destroyer is just as impressive. His eighth solo LP, Trouble in Dreams comes out March 18 on Merge Records. Here’s the first single, courtesy of Pitchfork.

The Von Bondies

The Von Bondies caught a big break when Rescue Me took on “C’mon, C’mon” for its theme song. Before next year’s Love, Hate and Then There’s You tests its new fanbase, the Detroit act will be self-releasing a couple of EPs, the first to be titled We Are Kamikazes Aiming Straight for Your Heart. Stream two new songs exclusively at Detour.

Supernatural

The UK’s Goldfrapp is getting the jump on the competition with Seventh Tree in February. The electro-pop duo describes it as “a sensual counterpoint to the glitter ball glamour of Supernature”. A Plague of Angels has the first single from the upcoming LP4, right here.

The holiday season wouldn’t be complete without the music, and the Wales-based Super Furry Animals are feeling generous this year. Bookmark the SFA site, right here, and hit it up on December 25 for a free download of the b-side “The Gift That Keeps Giving.” The band’s Hey Venus! will see a physical release in the US next month, so in the spirit of instant gratification, here’s the first single, via the Beggars Group label, along with a couple more reasons to hit the eggnog early.
