The following press release just came in, and, hoo boy, you're going to love it. We thought at first it might be from Hannah Banana's people, but it's actually all about this guy named Roy Sciacca (who may or may not have been in a legal battle over Beach-Boys memorabilia).

We're sure Roy has a lot of interesting shit to say about "lip-singing" and changes to "out fits" as they relate to child labor laws, but what we want to know is how a fictional character can really be misportrayed, exactly. Are people upset because it's not Miley Cyrus -- who, on the TV show plays the character Miley Stewart, who, in turn, leads a double life (har har) as pop singer Hannah Montana -- has a double? No mention of her name. (And who came up with the name "Miley" anyway?)
The blog Just Jared claims to have footage of the switcherooni in action:
Around the 2:15 mark, a co-actor throws a cloak-thingy over Hannah and she passes under the stage. A person identically dressed emerges a second later. This presumably is the double. She's bent-kneed and hunched in the shoulders with hair covering her face, because not only is she not Miley Whashername -- she's actually a trained bear!
Seriously, people, if you're taking your kids to see this nonsense live -- actually helping your kids to be good little consumers of this hyper-corporate pop schlock -- then we have no sympathy for you if you can't handle a bit of stage trickery.
Eat it up, you turkeys.

Roy Sciacca is a bad person and a theif. Look up the Beach Boys fiasco.Stay as far away from that looser as possible. Do a back ground check to be safe.
For all those interested. Stay away from anything that has Roy Sciacca attached to it. He is not an honest person putting it lightly and his life has been spent it court disputes regarding bad transactions and misapproprations of the truth. Stay clear or it will come back to bite you.

Why is the pitch slamming the actress known as the character Hannah Montana?
hmmm, because when the herds of crappy entertainers are not carefully managed and kept in check, they can quickly overpopulate thier natural habitats (Orlando, Branson) and begin entering human communities where they pose a danger by crossing roads and higways as well as a nusciance by eating the ivy out of people's flowerbeds.

There is a lot of difference between a taped show and a live concert. Cameras are able to run film at the demands of the director and that means off time in order to set up each scene including the switches that the character Hannah Montana makes in the storyline. Therefore, it is more than acceptable for a quick change to necessitate the use of a body double to keep the flow of the show going on. Let's be more concerned with the enthrallment young girls have over a fictional character and do not take the time to work on developing their own gifts and talents...
I'm sorry, I should have been precise -- why is the Pitch slamming the young actress/singer who portrays the character Hannah Montana? And who cares if she was a 'creation'? So were the Monkees. And Menudo. Nevermind, forget Menudo.
It's not like this is an intelligent article expounding on her 'music', it's more like a slow newsday slam about what other people will write about on their slow newsdays, only it comes across more mean than funny.
If you want to read stories about teen-fluff-pop that are written from a completely non-critical point of view, there is a magazine called "Us Weekly". You will like it much more than The Pitch.
BTW...the "she" that you are referring to is actually an "it". It's name is Disney. There is not a musical artist called Hannah Montana. Hannah Montana is a confection created by writers who work for Disney. Her music and songs are composed by writers who work for Disney. If you are bothered by the snarky criticism of Hannah Montana by music writers, it might help you to understand that the criticism itself has less to do with the music being played and more to do with the fact that Hannah Montana is the musical equivelant of a fucking cyborg.
I don't think she has a double because you wuold think that she could rip off her fans like that. Anyways she's supposably a Christian and Christians don't do that and when you see her shows on tv or see her concerts on the internet you see her not a double!
Wow, why are you so angry about Hannah Montana? Does she just not have enough 'street cred' for you? Rather than sitting on your hipster high horse taking potshots at this little girl, maybe you should suggest some ALTERNATIVE music events that would be both appropriate and fun for 'older' young kids.
I went to the concert and seen the switch it was for about 1-2 minutes of Hannah's last song on stage. This is a teenage girl who might need a little more time between sets to rest or use the restroom or just to have a little break before coming back out. She then came out as Miley.
I see nothing wrong with that and my daughter didnt even notice till I pointed it out and she looked through the binoculars.
It was a great show and worth the hassle of getting tickets are regular prices...
miley told everyone on an interview that she and hanna were going to sing together i didnt really know what she meant but now i do. if you go to youtube and put miley cyrus on ellen it will show you.
You know, I just can't get enough Hannah Montana. She's so awesome, and relevant to this publication that she NEEDS a body double just to keep up with her rabid fans, who also happen to be rabid fans of The Pitch!
All things considered, isn't the outcome of this whole ordeal a good thing? Another pre-pubescent, scantily-clad girl shaking her underdeveloped money-maker? Isn't that what makes the world go 'round?
