The Architects play two CD release shows this weekend, both at the Record Bar. The first, this Friday, is an 18 and over show featuring Outlaw, the Beautiful Bodies and the Dollhouse Rumor. The second, this Saturday, features the Life and Times, the Throttlers, and the Sixteens: sorry, no kids allowed. All paying attendees get a new copy of the Architects CD "Vice", now out on Anodyne.

This Friday the Riot Room hosts "KC, DC, Seattle: A Dominating Tribute to Grunge". Pay homage to grunge by beating it into the ground. Costume flannel encouraged.

Also this weekend, Sub Poppers Blitzen Trapper and Fleet Foxes play the Jackpot in Lawrence. If the idea of listening to alt-country in a college town makes you want to punch a cop in the face, you should go to the Napalm Death show at the Beaumont instead.

I love conventions. I love boat shows, gun shows, and psychic fairs. If I had twenty-five dollars to spend people-watching, I'd spend it at the KISS Convention at the Overland Park Marriott. I want to see what people who rock n rolled all night and partied every day look like at fifty. The expo runs from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm this Sunday.
