Meet me on my vast veranda/My sweet, untouched Miranda-a-ah!

Ah, he's got those romantic couplets down, that Meloy. In fact, that one line contains just about all you need to know about the man's lyric style. Never mind the next line: And while the seagulls are crying/We fall but our souls are flying/And oh, my love.... You've got the veranda, you've got the babe with the hundred-year-old name. Drink it onto your iPod via the futuristic methodology of the download, Helena, then meet me at my ornate wainscotting, where I'll give you a joyous frotting.

MP3: Colin Meloy, “We Both Go Down Together,” from Colin Meloy Sings Live! (Kill Rock Stars)

Colin plays this Friday night, April 25, at Liberty Hall with opener Laura Gibson. Look for a review of the show right here next Monday.

Hey there! Cool article, I like it nearly as much as my IPod! You can get one for free on the web, just go to www.daily-stuff.com - couple of my friends did that and it worked!
