A helpful reader called in today to report that the “Hypnotized Tour” at Kemper Arena Sunday night was a disappointing bust.

Promotional fliers listed the artists that were supposed to perform: Plies, Rick Ross, Lil Boosie, Juvenile, Pretty Ricky, Yo Gotti, Pop It Boyz, Shay and Mon-E-G. Tickets were $50. KPRS, the station that plays Plies’ song “Hypnotized” roughly every fifteen seconds, was listed as a sponsor.

“If you’d have gone to malls and places where black people shop, you would have seen it was a frenzy yesterday,” our caller says. “People getting new outfits and stuff. Plies, he’s like a big deal. He shot a video in the streets of KC with Rick Ross, you know what I’m saying. So it was a nice crowd, everyone was really amped up for this concert.”

But unfortunately, more than half of the artists listed on the bill didn’t perform.

“Rick Ross showed up and did a real short set,” says our caller. “He went on first, which is really odd for an artist of his stature. Then, Pleasure P from Pretty Ricky did a long set. Really long. You would have thought he was the headliner. The Pop It Boyz didn’t show. Juvenile didn’t show. There were these long spaces of nothing between acts, no one announcing, ‘Next up is so-and-so,’ you know, there was no direction whatsoever as far as where it was going. There was no warning about who wasn’t there, and no apologies for the acts that didn’t show up. It was just a scruffy talent show. Lots of people are at my house right now, just regular people who went to the show, and they pissed.”

A representative at KPRS says that she did receive one complaint today about the concert no-shows.

Our caller says he was also surprised, at the end of the show, at the amount of police in the Kemper parking lot after the show. “I thought I was gonna see a tank or something. They were deep.”

Captain Rich Lockhart of the Kansas City Police Department says that the amount of officers at the Kemper last night was normal. “Traffic is typically very difficult down there,” he says. “With all those lots out and about, it creates a lot of traffic control points, so we have a lot of officers out there directing traffic.”

Our caller reported that the police held large cannisters of pepper spray and were using it to break up disturbances. “I was downtown when Hannah Montana let out of the Sprint Arena, they didn’t shut stuff down. They didn’t do none of that. I guess they figure white people ain’t gonna start shooting.”

The person who said that "Anyone, who thought all those headliners would be ANYWHERE performing together for 50 bucks should be slapped" must have been walked over and slapped so much to where actions like this is "NORMAL" and "OK"?!

Have you heard of false advertising? This is what was presented at the Hypnotized Tour in KC. When you hear on the radio a list of artist being NAMED that they will appear, and you hear the artist that you want to see, for me it was Pretty Ricky and The Dream, I don't give a rats hemorrhoidal *** about the others, what prompt me to purchase the tickets (3 to be exact) was their names and neither one was there.

Which is why I am in the process of filing a small claims law suit against the promoters, because after the concert I found out unfortunately after the concert, that The Dream had signed up to tour with Mary J Blige and had done so way before the concert in KC so the promoters knew that he was not going to be there and did not change a thing in the advertisment, nor the poster add displayed on Kemper Arena's website. Which by the way, if you look up the Hypnotized Tour's poster add, The Dream nor Pretty Ricky are on it, and now it says Pleasure P of Pretty Ricky.

This change miraculously has changed since several of us has made calls and emailed the promoters of our plans to sue. And also, the representative at KPRS lied, because the very next day, I called them and they said they were going to call the promoter to contact me regarding my fraud complaint, which now I doubt they did. A friend of mine who was also pissed called KPRS too.

So to JLynn T, to the reader or anyone else who want to stand up for themselves, don't just let people cheat you out of your hard earn money, sue. I will post the promoters address when I get home which is Black Diamond Entertainment they have a location in Missouri, and also thebookingagency.net you'll find their address on their website.

First off, people have to understand what the "Hypnotized Tour" really is. Anyone, who thought all those headliners would be ANYWHERE performing together for 50 bucks should be slapped.

I looked into going to/booking The "Hypnotized Tour" are learned that's basically what you are doing is booking Plies, who would normally go for 50 tickets. But they are also throwing in the mix a host of celebrities, some may show in NY if that's where they live, if it's in Florida, you get dat dirty dirty, etc. But obviously his management are so smart that they decided to label this tour, seek sponsorship and see where this "Hypnotized Tour" thingy goes.

For one, I've saw Plies' performance before and after he went Gold, was named one of Forbes top 10 rap artist for 2008, sold millions of ring tones, debuted #2 on the billboard 200 and I can vouch that he gives one good a.s.s show and delivers and interacts with the females in the crowd.

I agree the concert was very disappointing!...Its as if they did not care about the people in the audience who paid money to see them perform...They were just there to get our money and enjoy themselves on stage while we anxiously awaited a performance...I think it was very rude to wait to the veryyy end to announce Plies was not coming...They just wanted us to stay and watch all the people we knew nothing about...Concerts of this type make me not want to waste my money on artist because they seem to not respect their fans!..
