Rhymers and breakers, rejoice! Remodeling forced the Peanut at Ninth and Washington to close their doors for a month and a half, but the bar celebrates its reopening tonight with an evening of Hip Hop and Hot Wings. Now in its fifth year, Hip Hop and Hot Wings brings together the underground elite and area amateurs for a night of music, break dancing and street art. The once weekly event is now biweekly, regularly scheduled for Wednesday and Sunday. Everything returns except the trans fats: the bar has pulled their bear style wings from the menu, but the rest of the mammoth, sauce-slathered wings remain. Support your subculture and show your love tonight, when the Innate Sounds crew reestablishes KC’s best weeknight indulgence.
