Lawrence lounge lady Dri dropped by the Daytrotter studios for a live session this week, and the songs, with an accompanying essay, are up today. DRIve those pageviews! DRIve those downloads! DRIve old people to the store and buy them grapefruits! (Actually, that doesn't really work because Dri is pronounced "dree," but whatever.)

More info plus an MP-Dri and BRAND NEW REMIX EP after the jump.

Those not familiar with Dri have been missing out like a guy who lives nextdoor to a free cake factory and thinks he's just smelling his Glade Plug-in. Dri is the quasi-alter-ego of fomer Anniversary member Adrianne Verhoeven, and her music is lush. She released her debut, Smoke Rings, on Lawrence label Range Life last year. Though the record uses studio beats by local producers including Josh Powers and Nezbeat, Dri's currently playing with a live band. Decide which Dri you like better -- compare her version of "You Know I Tried" that's on Daytrotter with the album version below.

MP3: Dri,

from Smoke Rings

BONUS!

Just found out after posting this, Dri has released a free remix EP, which you can download HERE.
