LET'S GIVE THE OTHER GUYS A CHANCE!!!
Well, if you've looked at the ballot this far down, you may be wondering what's up with this All-Star Award category. It should be obvious, but if you're new to the scene, the deal is, these five acts have been winning their respective categories just about every year for the past three-plus years -- with the exception of Tech N9ne, who returns to the ballot after a fame-prompted absence. We welcome still-famous Tech back to the fray and invite his fans to compete with those of Mac, the 'Tects, FtS and Split Lip, all of whose mantles are crowded with recent PMA trophies.

LOL @ Ragga Scum fanboy....you sound butthurt!
I think the nominees this year were really strong in all the categories. It was nice to seem a few names in the hiphop category that normally don't get much attention from The Pitch.
No Ragga Scum? Really? The guy has only released 5-6 new tunes this year so far on major distribution labels around the world. He's played LA, NYC, Canada, & Mexico more times that I can count on my hands and is even playing Ecosystems down in Brazil later this year. Still no love? Wow. Okay. Nomathamatic is in there though... hmmm... they load premade sets into their "live pa" equipment. You guys are a joke.
Of course Heet Mob deserves a "nod".They should have been given your cover and multiple nominations years ago when they signed to CHUCK D'S label. Unfortunately there are many people that STILL don't know about that. As far as the Adru article, you guys at the pitch should check out the one lawrence.com did. And don't misunderstand,I think Ces and the Mob are the top hip hop artists in the area, bar none.
Go see The Sixteens. You will have no problem deciding who to vote for in the punk category!!! Also, The Pink Socks are hard to beat as best live act. They THUMP live!
Flypaper: CES Cru released a mixtape this year that rocked, and Heet Mob has been keeping hip-hop open mics alive for years, including this past year. Plus, Heet is long overdue for a nod. Check out the feature we did on Adru back in September of last year, http://www.pitch.com/2007-09-2...
Ruggles: If the Shoe fits, Bacon.
Anonymous Alternative Rock Person: Our Rock category skews way more toward the direction of which you speak than it has in recent years, I think.
I was so excited when i heard that EMPIRE was nominated to be Kansas Citys best Hiphop Group. I have gone to multiple shows and even seen a music video that they have done! and i really, really, really enjoyed them both. The shows were spectacular and the music video was awsome!!

Adru the Misphit- "Dying on My Feet"- This album was released in late 2007,but Adru still should've been nominated. His album had beats from damn near every top producer in the area,20 SONGS,cohesive all the way through with no filler. The album also spoke from a perspective that's never been heard in local music. And as dope as Ces and Heet Mob are, neither has relased an album in about 3 years.
Go Republic Tigers!! Being on David Letterman is going to give them a big push in their career. Yeah!
I find it hilarious that Bacon Shoe has been nominated in the Experimental category this year, and Best Live Act last year, but never in the Hip Hop category. BACON SHOE IS NOT A RAP ACT!!!!
There needs to be a category for Hard Rock or Alternative Rock. There are too many great bands in the KC scene that don't fall into straight up "rock" or "indie rock" categories but are not considered "metal" either.
Hey Guys,
Thanks for nominating Cash Image as best Hip Hop in Kansas City,Mo. Cash Image has hit he scene hard this last past two years
with multiple hits, achieving goals ,awards, and plaques. So for everyone
who is real hip hop fans "I" encourage you to vote Cash Image best Hip Hop, and watch him set a standard goal for Kansas City and rep it RIGHT !!!
Tech N9ne is Kansas City. The caribou lou is the best to come to this town...ever
hey dipshit...
learn to read.
mac is nominated under "All star award"
it's disappointing to see yet another year of our city's best live act, not nominated. if you readers do not believe me, see for yourself, he has an all ages show coming up at the beaumont on july 25th. mac lethal has put in many hours and a lot of sweat and does so for each live set he knocks out of the park, regardless of whether or not you are an indie hip-hop fan, the shows never disappoint.
