Locals Moreland & Arbuckle Bring Blues to Middle East

Local musicians, Aaron Moreland and Dustin Arbuckle, are headed to Iraq and Kuwait later this month as part of the second BLUZAPALOOZA tour. Created by blues producers Steve Simon and John Hahn and presented by Armed Forces Entertainment, this 12 day BLUZAPALOOZA tour stars blues icons Shemekia Copeland, Michael Burks, Deanna Bogart, Zac Harmon, Moreland & Arbuckle, Tony Braunagel, Aaron Trubic and The BLUZAPALOOZA All-Star Band.

Congrats, guys! Moreland & Arbuckle are one of our region's rootsier, more authentic outfits. You won't hear them covering "Mustang Sally." No way. Their brand of prairie blues is deeply influenced by Southern rock and gutbucket Delta blues. Some broke-ass shit, you know what I'm saying? Check this song out. The troops will be well entertained.

Fun Fact: Their latest album, 1861, is dedicated to Kansas and named for the year it became a state.
