Freedy Johnston: Canceled

Posted by Jason Harper on Mon, Nov 17, 2008 at 2:22 PM

The Freedy Johnston (and Wayne Gottstine and Eric Mardis and Grant Fitch) show that was scheduled for this Wednesday at the Jackpot ain't haps no more. We don't know why, but it is. So don't try and go, see?

To folks of a certain age and bent, Johnston is best known as the guy who sings through the end credits of the Noah Baumbach classic Kicking and Screaming. Here's the song, via its overblown, mid-90s major label video treatment. Still a great song, though.

"Bad Reputation" is from the Kinsley, Kansas, native's 1994 major-lebul debut, This Perfect World, an album every Midwesterner should own.
