On Friday, Panther made a hefty commitment to its fans. The Portland duo announced it would give away a new cover song each month for the next two years while they work on their follow-up to 14kt God (released earlier this year). The MP3s will be available via the Rhinestone Neck Brace blog and the first installment digs deep into the Bee Gees catalog for a somewhat faithful rendition (minus the string section) of “To Love Somebody.”

Speaking of the Bee Gees, My Old Kentucky Blog posted the Rosebuds’ unreleased version of “Staying Alive,” as well as a Spoon cover, taken from the couple’s very limited tour CD.
