The Hold Steady: DVD and Live Album Coming in April + Tour

I rejoice with fellow Hold Steadians at the announcement of the upcoming release of the gruffly named A Positive Rage, the Hold Steady's first live album and tour documentary.

Press says:

The live album was recorded on October 31, 2007 and includes seventeen songs that Craig Finn, Tad Kubler, Galen Polivka, Franz Nicolay, and Bobby Drake performed on the second of their two-night sold-out stand at the Metro in Chicago. The enhanced album will also feature five bonus studio tracks: "Ask Her For Adderall," "Cheyenne Sunrise," "Two Handed Handshake," and the previously unreleased tracks "Spectres" and "40 Bucks."

Unfortunately, the band is not coming here -- nor even Lawrence, nay... nor even Columbia. The closest they're getting is St. Louis, at -- it gets worse -- a dry venue (The Gargoyle). Maybe we'll just save our pennies up for April 7, when the Rage is released. Track list and tour dates after the jump.

A Positive Rage track listing:

1. Intro

2. Stuck Between Stations

3. The Swish

4. Chips Ahoy!

Uh, Omaha is closer than St Louis. The Slowdown is a great venue to boot.
