Tomorrow is the deadline!!!

We at The Pitch are pleased to announce that we're now accepting entries for our fifth-annual Ultra Music DJ Contest. YAY!!!. The grand prize this year is a pair of tickets to the Winter Music Conference in Miami in March (transportation and accommodations not provided -- sorry, guys). To enter the contest, send us an original mix of roughly 30-45 minutes, either on CD or via digital means (Sendspace, Zshare, etc.). Send CDs to "DJ Contest," The Pitch, 1701 Main St., Kansas City, MO, 64108. E-mail your digital mix download links to jason.harper@pitch.com.

Be sure to include your name and contact information. Duh.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, February 6 -- and we really mean that. Dead. Line. After the line has passed, your chances of entering are dead. So fire it up!

A week or so after the deadline, we'll announce five finalists to spin off, playing back-to-back, 30-minute sets at NV on Friday, March 6.

DJ-partner duos are welcome to enter. All styles of music are welcome.

Remember: THIS FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 6, OR NO CONTEST FOR YOU.

Direct all questions about the contest to, me, Jason Harper: jason.harper@pitch.com or 816-218-6774.

The action taken to national disaster is noble but it's a damn shame that so many citizens take advantage of the sad situations.

I mean everytime there is an earthquake, a flood, an oil spill - there's always a group of heartless people who rip off tax payers.

This is in response to reading that 4 of Oprah Winfreys "angels" got busted ripping off the system. Shame on them!

A guy apparently opened fire on middle school students with a rifle. The math teacher, David Benke, stopped him and probably saved dozens of childrens' lives at the risk of his own life. This man is a true hero.

You can read the news article here http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_... - Teacher tackles gunman supected in school shooting

We should all take a moment of silence for this man. Thank you.
