Crack open a regionally brewed beer on Sunday while area folk musician Mason Brown performs at Prospero's Bookstore (1800 West 39th Street, 816-531-9673). Brown's instrumental repertoire includes banjo, guitar and viola da gamba, which is a stringed instrument that's like a violin but bigger - it's rested on the knee as it's played. Brown will sing on Sunday, too, during a CD release party for his new album When Humans Walked the Earth. The free concert starts at 6 p.m. Weston Brewing Company will provide the complimentary beers.
