Incoming: Blink 182 to Sandstone?

Posted by Jason Harper on Thu, May 21, 2009 at 3:36 PM

It's not exactly news that Blink 182 will be reuniting for a new album and tour later this summer, and that Weezer's hitting the road with 'em. A Canadian blog has posted a complete tour itinerary that has Blink coming to Sandstone on September 4, and you know that Canadian bloggers are never wrong. Not sure whether Cuomo and co. will be with them, however, as the blog reports that on different dates, support will come from "a revolving cast of hit and miss noobs like Fall Out Boy, Panic at the Disco, All-American Rejects, Taking Back Sunday, Asher Roth and Chester French." Ew.

Fingers crossed, 'cause I don't know about you, but I like even Weezer's recent, mustache-era stuff better than anything Blink 182 has done, ever. But that's just me.

does anyone know what the complete band lineup will be? I see it opens at two but not really looking forward to standing around and listening to the local bands for 5 hours waiting till the real show starts.

If you like Blink 182, then you probably like Green Day. Are you also a RockBand fan? Download three exclusive tracks from Green Day's new album, 21st Century Breakdown, for your RockBand. Visit rockband.com for more info.

I'm not really the biggest Weezer fan anymore. I was stuck on their Blue album for years and then when they came out with "Beverly Hills" I pretty much stopped listening.

I'll take Blink 182 over Weezer any day.

I wouldn't go as far as saying that, either.

Blink definitely have their good and bad songs, but I still think they're pretty solid. I also think the promotions they've been up to lately have gotten people to take interest (like the flash drives with new material and such.) It just sucks they have to be promoting them with Fall Out Boy, when they could just be promoting themselves.

That said, I probably won't go to see them because of the support and the 12 year old girls it'll bring in.

Perhaps Weezer will cover MGMT.

I am really looking forward to this tour. I hope I can see Weezer and Taking Back Sunday together. I really like both bands' new albums. Taking Back Sunday's new guitarist Matt Fazzi will definitely strengthen the band overall and I am confident they'll be putting out a lot more solid music.

Checkout their myspace for the latest songs: I really like

"Sink Into Me" is my favorite song off the new album so far.

I wouldn't go so far as to say Weezer's worst (which is dreadful to me) beats Blink's best, but I'm really curious how many people a Blink-only show would draw. Is there still any relevance? Have people really been banging the drum for a reunion?
