Chicago art-rock reptiles Tortoise are preparing to poke their heads out with their first album in five years. Beacons of Ancestorship comes out June 23 on Thrill Jockey. The band will be playing dates in the US and abroad this summer -- nowhere near KC. The closest: Pitchfork fest in Chicago on July 17.
