Book 'em: classic albums become excellent-looking dime novels

A graphic artist known on Flickr as Littlepixel has posted an impressive photostream documenting his series of high-profile albums re-imagined as cheap paperbacks.

Old Phil here captures the project at its best: an image familiar and yet worn and strange, altered just enough to suggest a musty thriller on a nighstand rather than a bouncy '80s LP. Wonder what kind of "killer inside me" plot this book would have.

Elsewhere, the Human League's Dare looks like a lost Jay McInerney novel, and a couple of other titles could fit easily onto Ayn Rand reprintings.

Here's the rest of the set so far; he calls it "Cover Versions." He promises postcard versions if enough people pre-order.

Awesome. Reminds me of Spacesick's amazing "I Can Read Movies" series, which I go to often for inspiration when designing flyers.
