Hailing from Jersey City and looking like they just came from an Old Grey Whistle Test audition, the Black Hollies return to our daisy patch next week with songs that would give Count Five a psychotic reaction. When they came to the Record Bar in May of last year, I and the dozen or so others who caught it had a total blast. Though on record, the group sounds very throwbacky, they know how to bring it live, rocking out like Cream at the flippin' Royal Albert Hall. Right-click-save-as the song below and just try not to dance at your desk.

The Strange Boys
Thursday, June 25, at the Jackpot
Coming up from A-TX: the Strange Boys, who have also visited us before with their clanky, charmingly out-of-tune garage-punk sound. (If I'm not mistaken, they opened for the Neville Brothers ... I mean, the Pink Socks at the Record Bar what feels like aeons ago, so probably like, 2007. I think they may have been back since.) On tour with LA punks Mika Miko, the Boys are still hawking their March In the Red release The Strange Boys ... And Girls Club, from which you are welcome to enjoy the following tracks.
