Still haven't seen the film that makes KC in the early '70s look like the place to be?

You still have a chance, as the excellent homespun hippie-rock-doc is continuing its local run, screening tonight through Thursday, June 18, at Screenland Armour, just north of the river. It's showing alongside the Terence O'Malley KC mafia doc Black Hand Strawman, also enjoying an extended run.

If you don't go to either of these movies and just stay home pulling your pud all weekend, though, at least promise you'll set aside some time to read a motherfuckin' book.

Speaking of hippies and gangsters, congrats to Plastic Sax on the mention in Mojo!

Thanks for the shout-out, Jason. And while I'm often mistaken for a hippie, it's just not true. Gangster? I'll accept that.
