Incoming: The Buzz's Beachball, September 4

Posted by Nick Spacek on Wed, Jun 24, 2009 at 3:48 PM

96.5 The Buzz presents the return of their Summer Beachball show. For a few years there, it was your way to see a lot of bands for cheap. Well, they didn't have one last summer, but now it's back on September 4--which makes it more of an end-of-summer ball than anything else.

The Blink-182 / Weezer pairing at CapFed Sandstone has been out for a while now, but there's a quite a bit more than just those two: KC's own Republic Tigers and Mac Lethal, plus Taking Back Sunday, Matt & Kim, Stellastar*, the Von Bondies, and quite a few more. It's the Friday before Labor Day, so why not just take it off and have a four day weekend?

There's a ticket presale running until Friday, June 16 at 10pm over at Ticketmaster. If there are any tickets left, they'll go on sale to the general public Saturday morning at 10am. There's a limited number of tickets at $19.65 if you use the password "blink." You can also get your hands on VIP tickets, which include the best reserved seating, VIP parking and a Buzz Beachball t-shirt. VIP tix are $75, if you use the password "summer."

Save your money and attend Black Clovers BEERFEST at the Riot Room on the 18th. A ticket price gets you the show and all you can drink beer, all night, over 60 to choose from. They are working on having food available as well.

Anyone actually been able to see the $19.65 ticket price? All I see are $35 and $45. Maybe they keyed the dates in wrong (June 24th through June 16th)?

Wow, thank you SO much for putting the VIP password up. I couldn't find it ANYWHERE. $75 for a VIP package is so cheap. And the package is pretty perfect. Again, thanks.

Blink / Weezer was announced well over a month ago. Then there's two locals, a couple acts that they've dealt with before (TBS, Stellastar*), and the rest are people they got cheap with name recognition.

20 bucks isn't bad, though.

What a horrible, horrible, phoned-in line-up. Isn't this just the Blink tour with a buzz logo slapped on it?
