Scion is rocking yet another party down at the Czar Bar tonight. Hosted by Nomathmatics (who will be spinning, as well), this event will feature electro / disco madman Pase Rock, Designer Drugs, Dirty South rappers Da Hardy Boyz, DJ / IHEARTCOMIX label founder Franki Chan, and Blu Jemz. The show starts at 9pm, and is 21 and over. Admission is free, but you need to RSVP before 8pm.
Franki Chan is probably worth the drive down to the Crossroads alone, to say nothing of the rest of the eclectic bill. That dude easily loads clubs all over the country and beyond, plus his label's pretty much become a brand in and of itself. So, you'd do well to heed the RSVP warning that "early arrival is suggested as space is limited. Entry is NOT guaranteed."
Just remember the following:
It's free.
RSVP.
Or the show you will not see.
Here's an MP3.
Showing 1-2 of 2
This is a really great lineup, Scion is doing it right.
Pase Rock is really good live. Blu Jemz isn't really an up and comer though, he has been grinding in the LA and NYC scenes for years, and is highly respected.
Da Hardy Boyz should be entertaining. They aren't a dirty south rap group like everyone seems to think though.
blu jemz is an up-and-comer also - check out this compilation he did a bit back:
