Octarium Nominated for Just Plain Folks Award

Classical choral ensemble Octarium has been nominated for a Just Plain Folks music award in the Classical Vocal/Opera/Choral Album category. Over 42,000 albums were submitted and less than 1/3 of 1% of the entrants got a nomination.

The Just Plain Folks Music Awards were started in 1999 as a simple way to recognize the best music submitted by members. JPF Founder Brian Austin Whitney felt the music made by the "other 98%" of the music world often ignored by the mainstream televised music awards shows deserved its own recognition. The judging criteria is based around one basic concept: Does the music move you?

Octarium also recently launched a YouTube channel to keep track of their innumerable, amazingly neat performances, like the one below, entitled "Star Wars: John Williams Is the Man."
