We featured the book Fast Geek Reader here on Wayward Blog a couple weeks back (rather lovingly, I might add)
Well, the man who put the whole thing together, Charly "the City Mouse" Fasano has a reading at Prospero's Bookstore on August 23 at 7pm. The event is called OffBeatPulp : The Pulp/Pit at Prospero's Books. He's still waiting for word from Solidarity in Lawrence on August 22.
Charly "the city mouse" Fasano is a poet and story teller originally from Denver, now Chicago. His stories/poems are inspired by his experiences touring with rock and roll bands, failed relationships and being lost in familiar places. He has made his mark in Colorado and abroad by reading his stories/poems at rock shows and any stage that would have him. Fasano has opened up for the likes of The Queers, Lucero, Tim Barry of Avail, Mark Mallman, Crime in Stereo, and Drag the River. For more info about him, you can go to his MySpace page or the Fast Geek Press MySpace for info about Fasano's releases and what not.

Whoa, his voice is a lot deeper than I expected from that mousy photo. I dig it.
I dig anyone who'll get up and read or recite poetry before a band plays. Especially if it's John Cooper Clarke.
