Incoming: Bacon Fest, August 29

To raise money for the Rehabilitation Institute, a charity that funds medical rehabilitation services for newly disabled children and adults, there's a Bacon Fest this Saturday, August 29, at the The Foundation for Reclamation, 1221 Union Avenue in the West Bottoms. The event runs from 11am-2pm, and runs $30 per person.

That money -- in addition to helping individuals who have experienced a spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke or other type of neurological condition get back on the road of life -- gets you a signature bacon drink, beer, bacon food samplings, demonstrations by the creators of Bacon Explosion and live music with a special appearance by Bacon Shoe, as well as an event t-shirt.

You can head to the event's website to register. And you should, because it's bacon. If you're on a diet, here's your excuse to cheat for charity. Watching well-meaning folks made very uncomfortable by Toine, Lethal D, and Mr. Ruggles is almost worth the thirty bucks alone, to say nothing of the non-Kosher deliciousness that is sure to abound.
